David has worked as a musculoskeletal physio for nearly 15 years and is the Principal and owner of Kinetics. David has worked with the Championship winning NZ Breakers Basketball team and continues in a role as a touring physio with Athletics New Zealand. Previously David has worked as a consultant sports physio to Triathlon USA, Triathlon Canada and has worked alongside multiple Olympians across a number of sports.
David has a background as a competitive runner and World Championship representative duathlete. He combines clinical knowledge with a personal understanding of the demands in high performance sport. David has a strong interest in gym based rehabilitation and is passionate about youth injury prevention. He has completed post-graduate study in spinal manipulation, sports physiotherapy, dry needling and more.
David has dedicated clinical time in each of the two Kinetics’ locations each week. In addition to this each week he works alongside orthopaedic surgeon Mr Warren Leigh as a post-op consultant. This has involved developing post-surgical rehab protocols, expertise in custom knee bracing and research on client experience pre and post-surgery. Outside of clinical work David has an active role on the Physio Advisory Board with AUT University and is a founding member of the NZ Sport Think Tank, a non-profit organization set up to discuss and challenge the issues arising in youth sport.
