Alex Walters

Physiotherapist

Alex is a passionate Physiotherapist who has worked in a wide variety of clinical settings such as public hospitals, private practices and sporting clubs across Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand. This has provided him with valuable experience in treating and supporting a wide variety of conditions.

Alex has a keen interest in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, with his previous physiotherapy roles specialising in returning athletes and clients to sport following long term injury. Alex has a wealth of experience across multiple different sporting codes, in both Australia and New Zealand. These roles include Head Physiotherapist of North Shore Bombers AFL Club, as well as the Head Physiotherapist at Fraser Park FC in the National Premier League in Australia.

Alex has continued his professional development and widened his scope of practice by completing his ASCA level 1 Certificate in Strength and Conditioning, which helps him implement progressive strength principles to continue to progress clients with their long-term strength and functional goals following significant injury.

Alex has a special interest in the treatment of knee and ankle related injuries and supporting patients to their pre-injury function. Alex has also completed professional development by completing courses in Dry needling and segmental acupuncture and NZMPA certificate in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (COMT).

Alex loves meeting and working with many different people from all walks of life. He enjoys being able to support individuals through their recovery journeys, helping them to better understand their injuries and working together in achieving their recovery goals. Alex believes that understanding, and collaboration is fundamental to recovery and is critical for individuals in understanding what they need to do and how they need to do it, so they can achieve their goals.

Outside of Physiotherapy, Alex is a big fan of all sports, with special interest in AFL, NRL and Basketball. He spends most of his spare time with his 7 month old boy, Leo. If he’s not caring for Leo then he’ll be playing golf, surfing or at the gym. His next goal is to complete an Olympic distance triathlon, which he is currently in the process of training for.
