With over 20 years of experience in musculo-skeletal physiotherapy, Jody is well-sought after for her expertise. Jody trained in Auckland qualifying in 1999. Over her career, she has worked as a Physiotherapist in both New Zealand and the UK within a variety of clinical settings. Jody has extensive experience working with clients with both acute and chronic injuries, including sports-related injuries, and in rehabilitating clients following multiple trauma and surgeries.
Jody is now focusing her talents and skills on treating youth injuries and conditions and has successfully achieved further postgraduate training in Child Health in 2016. She has also recently completed her Master’s Degree researching the effects of over-training and early specialization in youth athletes. Her research was published in early 2020 in the peer reviewed Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport, titled “The associations of early specialisation and sport volume with musculoskeletal injury in New Zealand children”.
Jody continues to be involved in youth injury research, currently working with NZ Rugby to pilot a concussion management programme in high school rugby players. She is passionate about diagnosing, treating and educating young people about conditions specific to their physical development and athletics endeavors. Jody also has a mentoring role at Kinetics and is a great support for our younger members of staff.
Jody has two active children herself and is an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying tramping, boating, skiing, running and touch rugby.
